Madame Planter Peperomia

POSITION

Peperomia plants grow well in the bright indirect light provided by a west or east-facing window. These plants even grow under fluorescent lights. Insufficient light causes the slow growing peperomia plant to stop growing all together. Direct sunlight burns the leaves.

TEMPERATURE

Warm temperatures between 15 - 26 degrees Celcius are best. Temperatures below 12 degrees Celcius and cold drafts from windows and doors damage peperomia plant leaves.

WATER

Allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before you water. Best to water these plants from the bottom to keeps the leaves dry.

NUTRIENTS

They are a not a plant that require a lot of fertiliser, a weak 30% liquid fertiliser once a month is usually sufficient.

PROPAGATION

Propagation is fairly easy from leaf cuttings. Leave the leaf stalk attached and they will strike readily in propagation frame.

PRUNING

They are slow growing, so no need to repot or prune much at all.

PET FRIENDLINESS

Peperomia plants are considered slightly poisonous with a #1 toxicity level.
