Pot diameter: 15cm - Total height: 45cm

Pot diameter: 20cm - Total height: 65cm

Norfolk Gem is hardy and reliable, they will require little maintenance providing they are in a well drained environment - otherwise rot can take hold quickly. Grows over a good range of climatic conditions Australia wide. Height will grow to 0.5 - 2m in height.

POSITION

It's good for a well lit or partly shaded condition. Position plant in a well drained moist soil. It doesn't like frosts.

TEMPERATURE

Foliage 'burn' may occur if these pesticides are used when temperatures exceed 25 degrees C.

WATER

Avoid watering the centre of the plant from the top because this can cause the roots to rot. Water regularly during warmer months and less in winter.

NUTRIENTS

Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn.

HUMIDITY

Responds well to regular spraying as they naturally thrive in humid conditions.

PROPAGATION

Propagate by dividing clumps or cutting from rooted rhizomes - though the spores that are clearly visible on the undersides of the fronds will often freely self-seed.

REPOTTING

Re-pot container plants only if they are outgrowing their pots.

PRUNING

Old, dead fronds can be cut away to keep them looking their best.

PET FRIENDLINESS
